Polyp.....

K had the saline sonogram yesterday. There is a small polyp. They think that it was probably there 4 months ago when she had the HSG but it was probably so small that it wasn't detected. We were also told that the fertility drugs that she was on can promote growth of the polyp and that even though the polyp is very small it is in a bad spot fertility speaking so it's best to get them removed and then try again.

We have our consultation with the surgeon next Wednesday. (She's going to the same surgeon who did my surgery) I'm sure we won't be able to get the surgery done this cycle which means we're on a break for this cycle and next.

This brings us down to only 3 tries left and then we'll be done for a while. Those 3 tries will be full of the drugs, ultra sounds and 2 insems per cycle. I want no regrets or to feel like I could have done more. Whatever happens at the end of this we'll be ok. We won't be done we'll just be a break.

  1. Shit! I'm happy (well, not happy - really bummed for you girls is more like it) to pass along my surgeon's info if you want to call to see if you can get in for this cycle...

  2. *hugs* I'm sorry that's what it is, but I'm glad they found something. I hope that you're wrong and that you are able to get the surgery done this cycle (and start up next cycle), and that you're as lucky as I was in the fall after my surgery.

  3. I hope that everything turns out okay. Fertility drugs and cysts can be very dangerous, as I lived through that last month and ended up having to have my whole ovary removed. So, getting it taken care of earlier rather than later sounds very proactive. Good luck with everything.

  4. Well shit. I'm sorry that something is wrong, but glad that they found it to avoid further complication in the future (as well as you wasting more time and money). I really hope you can find a way to have it done sooner--be aggressive with them--so you don't have to miss yet another cycle.
    Good luck with that.

  5. I know K was, for lack of a better word, relieved that they did find something. I guess it gave her a logical reason why it wasn't working. As long as she's ok that is all that matters to me.

  6. Damn. Sorry to hear about the polyp. Here's hoping that removing it will be just what is needed to get that BFP. Hope the surgery goes smoothly and she has a quick recovery. Thinking of you both.

  7. Another delay... seriously?! That sucks and I am so sorry. I guess the only positive might be that a polyp could keep embies from embedding so maybe this is a blessing in disguise. I really hope so because you ladies have had MORE than your share of road blocks.

  9. What the eff. I'm sorry to hear about the polyp, but am with the others in hoping that its removal paves the way for a quick and much-deserved BFP. Best of luck to K during the surgery and recovery.

  11. B.tard polyp. I agree that it could very well stop implanting - so surgery though a bummer is a good idea. Does K have any insurance? You gals need a really good break soon! Oh and I hope they give her some good drugs - it's the least they can do for her. Take care.
